Brandon grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ. After reconnecting with him last year, he began a mentoring relationship with us before moving into the Lion’s Gate House. Brandon enjoys basketball and spending time with his brothers. He is excited to be nearing completion of his Associate’s Degree. Recently, he was offered a formal internship with the Juvenile Justice Commission and had the opportunity to speak at one of their national conferences.

Ernesto grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ. We met and started working with him several years ago. He has a gift to make you smile and laugh when you are with him. Ernesto was drawn to barbering and he became our first Causemetology scholarship recipient. Last year he graduated from barbering school and desires to open his own shop someday. We are excited for all the good things happening in Ernesto’s life including his recent engagement.

Jachin grew up in Asbury Park, NJ. We began meeting with Jachin a couple years before he moved into the Lion’s Gate House. He loves basketball and is a huge Boston Celtics fan. Jachin’s heart and life have been transformed and we were proud to hear that last year he was hired full time by the Juvenile Justice Commission. He works as a youth advocate and has been recognized multiple times for his exceptional work and achievements.

Jorge grew up in Mexico before immigrating to the US. Before moving into the Lion’s Gate House, we had the opportunity to work with him for a few years. He enjoys fishing, music, and is working as a DJ. He also enjoys the food industry where he has experience working as a manager for the past couple years. Jorge is now helping to manage a family delicatessen and has just begun his formal training in culinary arts.
